Biodiesel can be manufactured in several ways:

  • base, direct acid or enzyme catalysed transesterification of a lipid (triglyceride)
  • esterification of fatty acids

Base catalysed transesterification technologies are by far the most common requiring low temperatures and pressure and giving high yields.

Oxidative stability, flash point, Cold Filter Plug Point, viscosity, water content, residues –  there are up to 42 different items BioDiesel Oils (NZ) Ltd check for in it’s biodiesel depending on what it is going to be used for and where.

Fit for purpose – this means the finished product reaches our bulk fuel customers in the best condition ready for blending.
