Biodiesel is the name of a clean burning alternative fuel, produced from domestic, renewable resources.
It has no chemical comparison to mineral diesel from oil – the only real similarity is that it will, like diesel self ignite with air under high pressure and temperature.
Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. It can be used in compression-ignition (diesel) engines with little or no modifications. Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics.
Use of biodiesel offers many direct health, safety, environmental and economic benefits and it is also good for your diesel engine.
Did You Know?
Biodiesel has a lubricating affect (lubricity) and when mixed with normal diesel, can reduce wear in various engine components especially the injector pumps.
